Live Your Adventure is message to older adults for Active Aging Week® 2015

For immediate release

Feb. 10, 2015 (Vancouver, BC) —After staging its most successful Active Aging Week® ever in 2014, the ICAA (International Council on Active Aging®) is thrilled to announce the theme for its September 2015 event.

In 2014, Active Aging Week catalyzed a record 3,000 events throughout the United States, Canada and Australia – senior living communities, active adult/community centers, YMCAs, medical practices, universities, government departments and senior services agencies. Media coverage also reached an all-time high, with 43 broadcast features, more than 500 press articles driving 170 million media impressions, and countless messages on Facebook and Twitter (including the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition).

Held annually in the last week of September, this year’s Active Aging Week will run from Sept. 27 to Oct. 3. Events should be free or low cost, educational, and presented in a safe, fun and friendly atmosphere.

ICAA urges any organizations interested in participating in Active Aging Week 2015 to visit the ICAA website (www.icaa.cc) for guidance on the nature, frequency, venue options, and other details of events they’re considering – and ultimately, to register with ICAA as an official host site.
