Tell us what you did during Active Aging Week to redefine the term "Active."

Zip Lining Residents had the opportunity to zipline. Ziplining was a way for residents to explore their surroundings from the treetops as they zipped across the forest. We had seven total residents, two men and five women, who participated. The outcome of this event was awesome, the feedback we received said they loved it and wanted to do more on the spot! Overall a great experience that the residents loved and will remember forever as they redefined aging. Pound Class Residents had the opportunity to try a Pound exercise class. The Pound class incorporated rhythmic movements with pound (drum) sticks to lively music spanning a multitude of decades. Six women attended the program ranging in all ages. One of the women said she was a little nervous because of all her arthritis in her legs and arms. But after doing this event she would do it again and encouraging her friends to try it as well. She mentioned that it was something she didn’t know what to expect but in the end, she was so glad she did it!
