Tell us what you did during Active Aging Week to redefine the term "Active."
We held the 1st annual Kirkland Village floor bocce tournament, with each resident floor competing for the coveted title of Kirkland Bocce Tournament Champions! In one resident's own words, "It was, hands down, the best blending of Kirkland’s four IL neighborhoods that I have seen at any event here." There were a total of 7 teams; each floor was represented by 4 residents. It was an opportunity for both experienced players and those who have never played before to come together and share a morning of friendship and fellowship. We also hosted a Hawaiian-themed staff vs. resident water volleyball luau which had an amazing turnout. Leis were provided for all who attended and our culinary department outdid themselves, providing Hawaiian-inspired drinks and dishes for all. Spoiler alert: the residents won!
