Holland Home celebrated Active Aging Week with the inspiring theme “Journey of Learning,” embracing opportunities to grow, connect, and redefine aging. Across all levels of care, residents participated in a variety of engaging events including Registration and Field Days, Pep Rallies, Field Trips, and a Fine Arts Showcase. Fitness was a highlight, with PE classes and a nostalgic Recess Rewind led by our Fitness Coordinator coaches—complete with Bucket Golf, Bocce Ball tournaments, and plenty of laughter. Residents also voted in lighthearted “Most Likely To…” awards, sparking joy and camaraderie throughout the campus. A round of Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? revealed some surprising competitive streaks! Many residents tried something new, such as Steel Drum lessons, while others enjoyed a performance by the Singing Women’s group. The week’s grand finale was an unforgettable Pep Rally featuring staff cheerleaders, a dancing mascot, and the crowning of Homecoming Kings and Queens. Our Dining Team elevated each event with creative themed meals and snacks. The celebration concluded with a meaningful act of service—donating school supplies to a local school—extending the spirit and benefits of Active Aging Week beyond our campus walls.
