La Costa Glen embraced the theme of Move Your Way and focused on fun physical and mental activities offering numerous events for all ability levels. Early in the week there was a group walk along the Coastal Rail Trail in the heart of the picturesque beach town of Solana Beach. Mid-week featured Dance! Dance! Dance!, an incredible dance lesson marathon, with lessons for the Hula, the Hustle and the Charleston. Partnering with a local Hawaiian dance school, barefooted residents learned the symbolic arm gestures and moved their hips to beautiful music in the first hour. Then it was on to Disco with great moves like the Bump, and the “John Travolta”, accompanied by much laughter. The final hour finished with a high energy Charleston! Toward the end of the week, an eight-person team was sent to represent La Costa Glen in a day-long pickleball tournament between five Southern California senior living communities. The week ended with Puzzlemania!, and Sun and Fun Pool Games where residents went head-to-head in water volleyball. A seated meditation clinic, complete with a sound bath, capped it off. Everyone loved the spirit of the week and residents tried new things and indeed moved their own way.
