Tell us what you did during Active Aging Week to redefine the term "Active."
Holland Home celebrated the positivity of aging during Active Aging Week 2022. Residents were overjoyed to be reunited with loved ones from all levels of care for many of these special events. Our community showcased their passions and abilities during the variety show, shuffleboard tournament, and wine cork art class. A resident musician played the organ during a special chapel service while another resident photographer captured the photos that were submitted. Residents felt a sense of purpose by giving back to the community while participating in a trash pickup to clean up our neighborhoods. Residents and staff teamed up to redefine aging by competing in friendly games of pool volleyball, basketball, and Family Feud. Local organizations like John Ball Zoo and Blandford Nature Center joined in our celebrations by offering engaging presentations with animals. Residents gathered for a neighborhood block party and an elevated wine and cheese reminiscing social catered by our skilled dining team. Each day, but especially so during theme weeks, Holland Home strives to implement events across all levels of care that meet the residents where they are at, bring everyone together as one vibrant community, and redefine what aging and senior living can look like.
