Tell us what you did during Active Aging Week to redefine the term "Active."
For Active Aging Week, we are refocusing our programming on our eight dimensions of wellness: health, spiritual, nutrition, intellectual, social, emotional, environmental, and physical. Each day of Active Aging Week is packed with activities that promote each dimension. Most notable events include a discussion on the importance of talking with your doctor, brain fitness focused activity, a lecture on "The Mediterranean Diet", laughter stretching, and Geo Caching. The Forum is redefining the term "Active" by tapping into residents’ interests to help them realize opportunities to stay active beyond the traditional workouts in a gym or chair exercises in an activity room. Our residents can be active while swimming in our lap pool, hiking our neighboring preserve, enjoying some competition on the bocce ball court, or mingling with other residents and their furry friends in the dog run.
