The Spinney Group was thrilled to participate in the ICAA Active Aging Week presented by Humana. The Spinney at Van Dyke and The Spinney at Pond View are 2 “55 and better” active adult communities in the Upstate NY area. A key focus of living at a Spinney Group property is the lifestyle component of the communities. The Spinney group emphasizes active living in our communities. We had a wonderful timing planning special wellness and health events specific to Active Aging Week. The Spinney at Van Dyke and Pond View hosted a number of special events for Active Aging week including: Hiking at local trails and state parks, Healthy Cooking Demonstrations, Farmer’s Market Visits, Zumba Aerobics Classes, Outdoor Social Events, Active Exercise Scavenger Hunt, Chair Yoga, Yoga, Cornhole, Healthy Living Seminars via Zoom, Brain Booster Activities, Men’s Group, Social Groups, Healthy Bones Exercise class, 1.5 mile walk through a Halloween Light Festival, New Resident Welcome bonfire, Floral Arranging Class, and we ran a food drive to collect food for a local food pantry. The Spinney Group proudly promoted being a participant of Active Aging week via flyers and posters around the communities, email and print communications with residents, social media, and a press release to local media. The Spinney Group is proud to be an engaged member in this industry. The Spinney Group strives to continue to offer and promote health and wellness activities for our residents. The Spinney Communities are “Home to a New Generation,” and thoughtfully designed for active and independent seniors with a robust roster of events and programming. Life at The Spinney is about more than a great home; it's about the bonds that are formed in the community and a vibrant atmosphere that permeates our Clubhouse and abundant amenities. A dedicated Activities Coordinator maintains a monthly calendar and newsletter filled with activities and events for residents to participate in, ensuring that neighbors are destined to become friends.
