Tell us what you did during Active Aging Week to redefine the term "Active."

During Active Aging week, residents participated in The Amazing Race, Fall Scavenger Hunt, MoveMor, Tai Chi, and Seated Beach Volleyball! Many of these activities redefine the term "active" because to be active does not just mean to be physical. During the amazing race and scavenger hunt residents were following clues, using problem solving skills, challenging their brains, using teamwork, while also being physically active. The tai chi and Movemor is being spiritually active for many residents, as well as physically active! The seated beach volleyball made residents laugh as well as use their bodies and teamwork to play the game. From participating in these events, you cannot define "active" without using the words physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual, which is what being truly active is all about!
